For this challenge I decided to focus on the aspect of "My Journey of Growth" - partly because I love plants, partly because it felt like a good way to show how my skills evolved over time as I moved into End-to-End BI work.
The report uses a mix of standard Power BI visuals (bar charts, scatter charts), a radar chart, and quite a bit of custom HTML + CSS via the HTML Content visual. To prepare the data, I split each milestone of my life into smaller segments whenever my skill usage changed (new skills acquired, other skills no longer used), and distributed the shares across that timeframe.
I originally wanted to use a line chart to visualize how my skills developed, but with some skills appearing briefly and others showing up much later, it became unreadable pretty quickly. I switched to a scatter chart instead, which worked much better for showing each point in time without creating a chaotic spaghetti diagram.
Overall, this was a really fun project to build, and I’m already looking forward to the next challenge!
