Comprehensive College Comparison – Overall Quest Score & Average Metrics
This report is my entry for The College Quest in Fabricland competition. I’ve tried to build something that feels simple to use, but still gives students a clear, honest view of their options.
The idea is to help Fabricland students answer a few big questions quickly:
- Which colleges offer good value for money?
- Where might I actually enjoy student life?
- Which places seem strongest for future career prospects?
To do that, I’ve created an Overall Quest Score that combines cost, student experience and career outcomes into a single, comparable measure. From there, each page lets you dig a bit deeper:
- Overview: A high-level comparison of all colleges, with tuition, facilities, happiness and outcomes side by side, plus an Overall Quest Score to rank them.
- Student Life: A closer look at happiness, clubs, housing and facilities, with filters for kingdom, campus type and admission difficulty.
- Career Outcomes: Focused on placement rates, starting salaries and programme-level details so students can see which colleges might set them up best for life after graduation.
- Recommendation Engine: A simple “slider-based” tool where you set what matters most to you (low tuition, happiness, salary, etc.), and the report recommends the top colleges for your preferences.
I’ve tried to keep the layout clean, the colours accessible, and the explanations clear, so that even someone new to Power BI or to Fabricland can follow the story and make sense of the data without feeling overwhelmed.
