This Power BI report explores the extraordinary world of bird migration, with a special focus on the challenges, distances, and environmental factors that affect different species during their journeys.
Through interactive visuals including scatter plots, line charts, pie charts, and custom tooltips users can analyze key metrics such as:
Average flight distance per species
Monthly migration start patterns
Nesting success versus migration outcomes
Reasons for migration and interruption
Habitat-based distribution
One highlight of the report is "The Legend of the Skies", a compelling data story that follows a European stork (ID: B1369) which overcame storms, extreme temperatures, injury, and predators to complete its journey symbolizing resilience and the power of nature.
Key Features:
Accessible alt text for each visual
Custom color themes and intuitive layout
Narrative data storytelling with performance metrics
A balance between analytical depth and emotional engagement
This project combines data visualization, storytelling, and environmental awareness to not only inform but inspire. It's a tribute to perseverance in birds and in nature itself.

Congratulations!
Amazing and Intriguing storytelling report.
Congratulations, @Bibiano_Geraldo !
Among all the reports I’ve reviewed, I believe yours truly deserves to be among the finalists. You've done an excellent job telling a compelling data story, with a well-balanced combination of charts, colors, and metrics. I also want to highlight your thoughtful use of inclusive navigation through proper use of alt text.
What really caught my attention was the visual effect on the images. So here’s a question for you:
Is that effect achieved using button styles with on hover and on press, or are you using an SVG?
Outstanding work!
Hi @fernando_orsa ,
Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful feedback! 🙏
I truly appreciate you taking the time to review my report and highlight those specific aspects it really means a lot!
Regarding the visual effect on the images:
Great question! I actually used HTML + CSS, leveraging HTML content from AppSource, to create that interactive feel. It allowed for more flexibility in styling while still integrating smoothly with Power BI.
