Join Microsoft Fabric User Group Community, a group of community-led Meetup groups focused on all things Fabric, including Power BI, Real-Time Intelligence, Data Factory and Synapse.

 

Are you the leader of a Power BI or Fabric User Group on the Fabric Community that utilizes Meetup to organize meetings?   We’ve kicked off an initiative to provide benefits to help make your Fabric Community group a great success.  In January 2021, we launched the Azure Data Community initiative to create a network of user groups that focused on the Microsoft Data Platform.  We are excited to announce that we launched the Microsoft Fabric User Group Community! This means we’re expanding our support to include existing, qualified user groups that bring people together to learn about Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse and more!  We’ve

 

Earlier this month, we sent out emails via Meetup and the Fabric Community Platform informing leaders of this new initiative.  We’ve learned that many leaders have opted out to those communications, don’t check that email frequently or in some cases, it went to their spam/junk folder. What is a Qualified Group?

1. Have an active user group registered on the Microsoft Fabric Community Platform.
2. Have a corresponding Meetup group that meets all program requirements.
3. Have at least one group leader and one designated co-leader, with one primary group leader responsible for representing your group to Microsoft.
4. Both user group leader(organizer) and co-leader(co-organizer) must
   1. Complete a detailed application.
   2. Have an updated & complete Microsoft Fabric Community profile, prior to completing the application form. to provide is optional, and it may help us decide if your group qualifies.
   3. Must sign and agree to comply with the Microsoft Fabric User Group Program Requirements https://aka.ms/FabricUGProgramRequirements  
   4. Must sign and agree to comply with the code of conduct  https://aka.ms/FabricUGLeaderCodeofConduct

 

5. Must not charge other program participants any fee to attend meetings, except in cases in which the venue and/or hosting costs (e.g., food and beverages) are passed through to the participants.
6. You must maintain a regular meeting cadence by having at least six (6) meetings during each 12-month period.
7. Half of all meetings must relate to Microsoft Fabric Data products & services, diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I), or other professional development intended for data professionals.

1. Must not use the group to enrich or advance yourself, your business, your employer or your co-workers, or for lead generation purposes.
2. Agree to emphasize the importance of variety and balance in your speaker lineup, ensure a broad representation of ideas and experiences, avoid exclusive focus on a single company’s representatives and instead encourage the inclusion of speakers from different organizations.

10. Each group must publish and maintain a code of conduct for all attendees and speakers.
11. You must adhere to Microsoft’s Trademark and Brand guidelines, when using any Microsoft trademarks or referring to Microsoft’s software, products or services (see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/trademarks/usage/general.aspx).

 

To complete your profile on the Fabric Community Platform, navigate to the Fabric Community at https://aka.ms/FabricCommunity, sign in/register, select your avatar, select “my settings”, select “Personal Information” tab. At minimum, you must provide your first name, last name and email. Any additional information you would like.
