"Enter data" tab is disabled

Hi,

The "Enter Data" tab is disabled. Also, I cannot see the "Data" tab which is normally present on the left side.

@vanessa Sounds like you are using a direct query or live connection. When using either of those, there are certain functions that are no longer present/allowed.

Yes. I am using Direct Query.

@vanessa Data source is everything. It is important to note that both those methods of connection change the behavior, or certain abilities within Power BI. You could click on "Edit Queries" and this will show you the "Enter Data" tab, but you will be forced to import the data rather than Direct Query.

Simply put, you can currently create the modeling layer, relationships, calc columns and measures on top of a Direct Query in the PBI Desktop, and if using live connection you won't have any of those abilities.
