Retrieving old organisation account

Hello,

I do not know if I must post here, but I recently moved to another company and I want to get back my former account with all its associated data (username, questions, answers, etc.).

I tried to log in with my old credential and new organisation but I get the error message:

"Community account is already associated with a different organization account"

How can I manage to do that?

Hello @Anonymous,

We do have a support article that covers this here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Accounts-Registration/Community-Account-Support/ta-p/680251

Please open a case here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-cannot-sign-in

Please include the community user/profile name and email address you previously used to log into the community, as well as the  community user/profile name and email address of the account you wish to use.

Let me know if you have any trouble or need further assistance from me!

Hi,

What happens if my new company doesn't have Power BI Pro (yet, I'm working on it...). So I can't submit a ticket properly. What can I do to get my old account back in the same way (just need community)?

Thanks,

Benji

Hello @benjikj_mcsp. Anyone should be able to open a support ticket, regardless of whether they have a Pro license. Please follow the instructions here, and let me know if you were able to open a ticket: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-create-a-support-ticket-in-Power-BI/ba-p/6830...

Hi @JCM_iTalent ,

That post starts with 'If you are a Power BI Pro user'. So, when I try to create a support ticket from there I just get to a page directing me to purchase Power BI Pro.

Thanks,

Benji

@benjikj_mcsp I've passed your question on to the rest of the team. I will let you know when I hear back. Thank you for your patience.
