Collecting and analyzing the marketing data was always the essential part of any marketing strategy. Lately, we are overwhelmed with various online data sources, and it is getting harder to collect and organize the data we need. Companies like Windsor.ai have, therefore, developed data integration and data platforms (DMP). It makes it easy to connect all your data sources. Now it is quick and straightforward to join and integrate it with other information and use the data together in any other application, marketing platform, or visualization tool. Your data can usually be streamed to any existing data warehouse.
Having all your information available in an easy-to-use format lets you focus on the insights gained from the data integrations and run your business, rather than spending time integrating data.
In practice, that means that you can connect and combine all your marketing performance data from various data streams, including Google Analytics, Facebook, Google Ads, your CRM, or ERP software, and more.
So, basically, those services connect to your marketing data sources, pick up all the marketing data you need, and bring it to reporting, analytics, or storage platform of your choice.
Power BI is one excellent example of getting full use of the collected data. It helps, which you already know, to make them organized and understandable so that you can devote yourself to finding the proper steps or path to improving your business.
But, to provide the necessary marketing data, they must have access to their source.
Companies like Google or Facebook provide aggregated statistics and insights that help people and businesses understand how people engage with their posts, listings, Pages, videos, and other content on and off the Facebook Products. Software like CRM or ERP provides the data about your business transactions. All of those are highly sensitive data, and you will need to consider their safety before you grant access to any outside service provider.
Companies that gather your data from various sources have therefore developed the security and data protection procedures and rules to ensure your safety in this process. Data governance and protection standards fully address the demands of the world’s largest advertisers. For example, Azure provides in-depth and comprehensive compliance coverage and the latest SOC (Service Organization Control) requirements scope for a cloud provider. It also goes for the data storage and database software that they use.
Service providers like Windsor.ai, HubSpot, Supermetrics, Tableau, Funnel.io, and others, are entrusted with large amounts of customer reporting data and constantly monitor the evolution of best practices and refine the processes and technology solutions in this area. All network connections used to collect, view, or transfer reporting data are encrypted using TLS. All data is encrypted at rest.
The bottom line is that all providers have your data protection and safety as their high priority and will implement all necessary measures to prevent data leakage or loss. Their business model is based on your trust, the consent to access your data on any source that you chose. As obvious as it seems, I need to repeat that this is the only way to easily access the data from multiple sources and have them presented in an organized way to use them in the reporting or visualization tool of your choice.
As collecting and organizing, and analyzing the data is their primary, service providers like Windsor.ai pay great attention to protecting your data and keeping them safe.
Next time you see the requirement to grant access to your Google Analytics, Facebook, or CRM software account, you should know that your data is safe. The service can save you a lot of time and hustle, enabling you to deal with real business issues by analyzing your marketing data.
It is just the beginning of the Power BI reports journey. I have used this approach in some of the reports I have published in Power BI Data Stories Gallery, and I invite you to check them out. Please let me know if this post was clear enough and provided you with the information you need to connect to your data using a third-party vendor template. I will be happy to update this article with the necessary details. Also, you can check for more information on my blog.
