Unable to Refresh Power BI Dataset from Azure Blob Storage (Credentials Issue)

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with refreshing my Power BI dataset connected to a CSV file stored in Azure Blob Storage. Here's the situation:

  1. I successfully uploaded the CSV file to Azure Blob Storage.

  2. I connected the CSV file to my Power BI report without any issues.

  3. However, I cannot refresh the dataset manually, and the "Scheduled Refresh" option is greyed out.

When I attempt to refresh the dataset, I receive the following error:

Data source error: Scheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh.

Time: 2025-03-23 14:09:34Z

I've tried checking the dataset settings page, but I don't see any place to add or update credentials for the Azure Blob Storage connection.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? How can I resolve the credential problem and enable scheduled refresh for my dataset?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Go to Power BI Service → Workspace → Datasets → click the  (Settings) of your dataset.

Under "Data source credentials", you should see a warning. Click "Edit Credentials".

Choose:

Authentication method: Anonymous (if your blob is public) OR Account key / OAuth2 (if private).

Privacy level: Set it to Organizational.

Save credentials.
