Emailed alerts do not reflect changes I made to the reflex trigger

chris_umphlett_0-1703245051294.png

This is the default subject of an alert I set up. I have edited the trigger extensively, but none of it sticks. I created the reflex 24 hours ago.  It should have a different subject, headline, and be sent to a second person. None of that is happening. The same behavior is occuring on 3 different alerts/reflexes that I set up.

Hi Chris - sounds like you identified the critical step here: the actual logic running in the background needs to be updated with the new values you changed in the Detect/Act section. We have that extra step to allow you to play with changes before committing them; it's more relevant for changing something like the threshold in the condition card as you can then see how it would've affected the number of times the trigger fired.

You're not the first person to give the feedback that this isn't obvious in the UI, and we're looking at how we can improve the experience! Thanks for the post!

That hitting "Save" isn't enough is the confusing part. Also, the reason I didn't get this fixed originally was because I have no properties (According to the sidebar, there's nothing there and I didn't know what it was) so I didn't think updating the property would do anything.

I can answer the part regarding sending the alert to someone else. Only the creator of the alert can receive it.

So in your case, you have 2 options:

1- you either ask the guy himself to create the alert and he will receieve it by using his email in the "Act" section.

2- You can use custom action to use "Power Automate" flow to create specific actions when the alert is triggered. You can check this link for more details.

Thank you for your response. I did end up getting this to work, though I'm not confident enough in what happened to post a solution.

(1) is incorrect. Someone else is getting the email now. All of the changes I made in the 'act' section kicked in at the same time-- when I started getting the emails with the correct subject line, they were also going to this other person.

What I think may have fixed it: I went back into the reflexes and played around with settings. At some point, there was a grey bar below the ribbon at the top that said something about a property changing, and showed an update button (not the update button on the ribbon). I hit that. At that point, things seemed to start working.

I didnt pay much attention to it because in the sidebar explorer thing, it shows that I do not have any properties. I do not understand what I was updating.
