Hi everyone,

Please, could you help me?

I'm facing the following problem - the semantic model in the Power BI service is not fully updating.

I'm working in the Power BI service, with a Pro subscription, and the data for the semantic model is stored in a OneDrive account (the company account, the same one used for Power BI).The semantic model table is not updating fully - there are no errors registered in the update log.

Specifically, if I update data labels or values within the existing columns in the OneDrive data set, these changes are reflected in the report immediately.

However, if I create new variables (columns) in the existing table in OneDrive, the new variables are not added. Similarly, new data sheets are also not added.

Maybe I need to do something additional, apart from just updating the semantic model? Because I'm only updating the data in OneDrive and the semantic model.

Previously, when working with SharePoint, I didn't have this problem. All newly created variables (columns) or data sheets would appear in the data model and report immediately after updating the semantic model. Now they are not appearing.

YevhenAl If you are using a CSV file in particular, it will add the number of columns to import as one of the parameters. You need to remove that in your Source step using Advanced Editor.

I'm using an ordinary xlsx file located in OneDrive.

YevhenAl Any chance you have a step where you select columns or remove columns?

When you import an Excel workbook from your personal OneDrive, any data in the workbook loads into a new semantic model in Power BI. Power BI automatically connects to the workbook on OneDrive, or SharePoint Online, approximately every hour to check for updates.

If you want an immediate response refresh you can click refresh to manually refresh the semantic model, or configure a scheduled refresh.
