Hi, my current employer has gone into bankrupcy and I am trying to move my reports onto a new Power BI Service Tenant. Since there is no way to download the PBIX file of a report created online based on a different Power BI Dataset, I can't find a way to move over these reports short of simply recreating them by hand. Does anyone know of a technique or tool that would allow me to at least export the structure of my report?

Hi, Anonymous</LI-USER>

There are two ways to download a .pbix file, each with different results and considerations:

Download a report as a .pbix file. Depending on the configuration, this file might include a dataset.

Download a .pbix file from a dataset.

If your administrator has turned off the ability to download data, this feature won't be visible in the Power BI service.

For reference:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-export-to-pbix

https://hevodata.com/learn/exporting-data-from-power-bi/

Best Regards,

As I mentioned in my original post, these methods won't work because this report was created using the Power BI Online tool and referencing another dataset. The menu item "Download This File" is greyed out.
