Fabric Connections not supporting OAuth2?

Hi there,

I'm experimenting with Fabric to try and mimic our current ETL process with ADF in a Fabric workspace, however I'm running into a hurdle very early on.

It seems that Fabric Data Factory Pipeline does not support OAuth2 for data sources? Running into this issue when attempting to connect to a Azure SQL Server that is behind single sign on.

Also on doing some further research when setting up connections it seems fabric connection's don't support the use of Azure KeyVault?

Any info or suggestion for how this should be done in best practice would be useful.

As I understand that you are looking about accessing Azure Key Vault secrets within Microsoft Fabric. Fabric itself doesn't have a built-in Key Vault feature. Azure Key Vault provides a secure and efficient way to manage secrets, ensuring that your credentials remain confidential. However, there's a convenient way to achieve this using Fabric MSSPARKUTILS package in notebook.

Hi there.

I'm facing the same error mentioned in the section. I'm currently trying to connect to an SQL Server using OAuth2.

In my case, I'm not using a key vault.

Is there a way to use OAuth2 authentication as a method for copying data in pipelines?

Did you find a way?
