This is still an issue with Fabric deployment. The connection is always pointing to the source not target. The issue persist only if it is warehouse, did not see such issue if it is lakehouse. It is a known issue but do not know when Fabric will resolve this bug.

Hello

Recently, i deploy a data warehouse with a pipeline. After the deployment i check if everythings is good and suprise my datawarehouse is still attached at my dev environment. How can i change that. For the warehouse, we couldn't make deployment rules.

Thank you

Hi Anonymous</LI-USER> ,

Based on your description, it looks like you need to move your data warehouse from your development environment to your Test and Prod environments in Microsoft Fabric.

There are a number of reasons why your data warehouse might still be connected to your development environment after deployment. Here are some possibilities:

You might have accidentally left configuration files for your development environment in your deployment. These files might contain connection strings or other settings that cause your data warehouse to connect to your development environment.

If you use environment variables to store connection settings, you might have forgotten to update them when you move from your development environment to your Test and Prod environments.

There might be hard-coded references to your development environment in your code.

Always back up your data before making any changes to your data warehouse settings.

There are a few workarounds available to deploy Fabric artifacts to Test and Prod environments:

1) You can manually copy the Fabric project from your Dev workspace to your Test and Prod workspace. This involves exporting your data warehouse from your Dev environment and importing it into your Test and Prod environments.

2)If you are using Azure DevOps, you can set up a CI/CD pipeline using YAML. This allows you to automate your deployment process. You can specify the Test and Prod environments in the deployment job in your YAML file.

Best Regards,
Yang
Community Support Team

If there is any post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know. Thanks a lot!
