Measures in the data warehouse are very unstable

I experimented with measures in a data warehouse and experienced some issues:

Examples of what goes wrong:

New measure button in the data pane is greyed out but without an explantion given. I found out that this is the case when the table is not part of the default dataset.
When editing an existing measure it takes me to the SQL Editor and not the DAX editor. So I'm unable to edit exisitng measures.
Table columns are not recognized in DAX while creating or editing the measure.
Measures are not executed nor visible in the data preview.
Measures with failures are still stored in the table but when opening them again, the measure is converted to
[DaxExpressionRedacted]

Anyone else with the same experience?

How did the rest of your data warehouse testing go?

I found the warehouse relationships didn't work correctly, measures were a headache to manage and it was super slow. Nevermind the constant bugs shutting the warehouse down every few minutes. And not being able to create a measure in power bi, complete dealbreaker for me.

After the data warehouse was corrupted and all data lost it was time to ditch the warehouse and move back to sql which was faster way more stable, zero bugs and actually much easier to work with.

I had the same experience. The model view is also very buggy. Double relationships from the Fact to Dim tables and vice versa popup out of nowhere and when I try to remove them I get a general exception error.

I will test again to see if this has been improved since my last test a couple of weeks ago.

I also had to delete the DWH and rebuild it due to a corruption in the metadata layer of the DWH engine itself. No usefull error messages so had no clue what caused it other than me thinking the faulty/double relationships were the culprit.
