Hi samedwalker50

Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.

The error message "inserting code snippet is not supported on this file type" indicates that the preview functionality in Microsoft Fabric Lakecouse doesn't allow embedding code snippets within JSON files.

Download and View Locally: Download the JSON file from Lakecouse and open it in a text editor or JSON viewer on your local machine. These tools are specifically designed to display code and formatted data clearly.

Preview as Text: If a dedicated JSON viewer isn't available, try previewing the file as plain text. This might not provide a formatted view, but you'll still be able to see the raw JSON content.

Following are the reasons that might be encountering issues while previewing JSON files in the Microsoft Fabric lakehouse after passing data through an API.

Verify format settings: Make sure the format settings in your Data Pipeline's Copy Activity are correct. Ensure "JSON" is selected as the format type.

Check for incompatible characters: Previewing might not work if the JSON file contains special characters that the previewer can't handle. You can try opening the file in a text editor to confirm if there are any non-standard characters.

Data Pipeline configuration: If you're using a Notebook activity to transform the JSON file before saving it to the lakehouse table, double-check the code for any errors. Ensure it's properly parsing and formatting the JSON data.

Please refer this documentation for additional information : Microsoft Fabric – writing JSON data into a Lakehouse table – Random Procrastination (gosbell.com)

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
