Hi Community,

I’m facing an issue while trying to resume a Microsoft Fabric capacity from the Azure Portal.

Steps:

Azure Portal

Microsoft Fabric Capacities

Select capacity

Click Resume

Error received:

Service is not ready to be updated

Additional details:

The capacity was previously paused

The portal sometimes shows the capacity in a transitional state

It may still be stuck in Updating, Pausing, or Resuming

Retrying after a few minutes gives the same error

Has anyone experienced this before?

Questions:

How long does the backend transition normally take?

Is there a way to recover the capacity if it is stuck in Updating or Pausing?

Did you need Microsoft support to resolve it?

Any suggestions or troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @JibinSebastian ,

It looks liek your capacity is still being paused, wait for the state to say "paused" instead of "pausing" and you should be able to resume it.

This typically only takes a few minutes, but can vary depending on the size of your capacity, the number of things running, and the burndown status.

What happens when you go into the activity log for your fabric capacity? Does it show anything in the logs?
