Hello everyone,

I am currently experiencing an issue with Dataflow Gen 2 where I am the only one who can manually refresh the dataflow if I am the owner. I have attempted to circumvent this via the connections using a service principal and/or a technical user. However, I always get an error message when I try to refresh the dataflow if I am NOT the owner. What could be the reason for this?

Do you have scripts that aren't being written to a destination that have enable staging activated?

If so, try deactivating them if possible.

Check out: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Dataflow/My-DataFlow-Gen-2-Fails-with-Unknown-Evaluation-Error-999999/m-p/4740611

Hope this is helpfull

Hi ChielFaber,

Thank you for your quick response, that solved the problem. Thank you very much!
But when I add a destination, I get another error message about credentials. So that only solves the case without a destination.

Only the owner can refresh the page, other users cannot do so unless they are owners?

Or do I have to make special settings for it? Can you help me with that?

Thanks so much

Strange problem. Does the owner of the dataflow also owns the destination? Try setting both owners to be the same. When writing to the destination do you use personal credentials?

In my environment when a colleague refreshed one of my dataflows (without first opening the dataflow) the refresh goes through with no problem.

I had already tried that without success. I'm slowly running out of options, as I tried my luck with personal credentials, technical user credentials and service principals, but always failed. It is already the case throughout our entire organization that if a user is not the owner of the dataflow, they cannot refresh it manually either.

Thanks for your support and time 🤗
