I also understand, than when DirectQuery is used as opposed to Import, the underlying data source (in my case, on-premises Oracle DB) is queried when reports and visuals are rendered. The data would not reside in the SQL Server.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>My question is: would I still need a SQL Server if I only used DirectQuery for a direct connection to my Oracle DB?
