As per this official article, a update of Power BI report server will be released in January 2019. Please have a check in January 2019, your patience is appreciated.

Yeah I am also bumping this. We all knew it was to be released in Jan, but without any word from them we are left in the dark.

We are around 2 weeks out till the end of the month and no word on release date at all. Maybe just a quick response from the team would be great so we can plan accordingly.

I have several folks chomping for this upgrade as they started using the NOV 2018 release and were unable to upload their files into the AUG 2018 Server and didn't want to waste another week in developing the files on the older version of Desktop.

So are they now actually cancelling the JAN Release and waiting until May? So much for using NOV Desktop, by the time we get the May update the next Desktop version will be out and obsolete for us On Prem users.

Is the next release due in Jan 2019 as previously stated?

What features will be in the next release?

We've been waiting for RLS to be implemented for what seems like forever and we were banking on it being in the next release due this month.

The Power BI Happy New Year Blog Post says the following below the video:

This month we will have a Power BI Report Server update only, but starting February, Power BI Desktop will continue our monthly ship cadence. Looking forward to an even more impactful 2019!

I am still hopeful that we are getting a release this month.

Sorry for the confusion, there was an error in the release notes and it caused some concern with folks, but as you’ve seen, the release went out and there’ll be a blogpost in the AM released covering off on the new functionality in detail!

The documentation at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/install-powerbi-desktop states January 2019 update but all links on the page and later graphic still indicate August 2018. The download link in Report Server still takes you to August 2018 version...
