Not able to Open the Report Server URL

Hi Team ,

I installed the Power BI Report Server and connected it with Service Account (Network) , Web Service URL , Database (Local) , Web URL . But still I am getting below error while opening the Web Portal URL .

"The service is not available.

The report server isn’t configured properly. Contact your system administrator to resolve the issue. System administrators: The report server can’t access or use the encryption key. You might need to add the server to the scale-out group, reimport encrypted content, or delete all encrypted content and generate a new encryption key."

Is it something that i am missing ? Please help me asap as its really important to move forward .

Hi sashankpappu,

Please try:

Delete the encrypted content using the config tool.

Create a new database for report server db, rather than using an existing one.

If you have the previous preview version of Power BI Report Server installed on your machine, please first delete it.

Resolved the issue .

PreRequisites is what is missing in the documentation of PBI Report Server :

For community purpose :

1. Install Power BI Report Server in Developer Mode instead of Free Trail for 180 days. (This has to be done while installing PBI Report Server.)

2. Install SQL Server with Custom Mode instead of Basic Configuration .

This resolved my issue .

Deleting the encrypted contents and creating a new database worked for me. Thank you v-yulgu-msft
