Power BI Report Server don‘t support "Fields Parameter"

I create fields Parameter in a local file used Power BI Desktop,

"fields Parameter" work's fine,

but when I upload this file to my company's Power BI Report server,

the fields Parameter didn't work...

Power BI Report server not support " fields Parameter"? or my company's IT disable this function in the power BI report server?

Hi xiang_huang,

May I ask the version of your Power BI Desktop and the version of your Power BI Report Server? The issue you're experiencing may due to a mismatch between the versions of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Server.

What you can do is download power bi desktop from your report server by clicking the download button in the upper right of you Power BI report server then click "Power BI Desktop".

The “Field Parameters” feature is not supported also in older versions of Power BI Report Server. This feature became available in Power BI Desktop around May 2022, but Report Server only started supporting it in newer releases.

You're correct to suspect a limitation. Power BI Report Server does not support Field Parameters.

The latest version of the report server also does not support it, and we look forward to the official adding field parameter functionality to the report server！！

Same isuue here.

I also create fields Parameter of Date in a local file used Power BI Desktop,

"fields Parameter" work's.

but when I deployed this file to my company's Power BI Report server,

the fields Parameter didn't work.

I have checked the version of my Power BI Desktop and company's Power BI Report server it's same

2.147.1088.0 64-bit (September 2025).

can anyone provide me an info why this it's not working.

it does not work because it doesn't exist in powerbi report server. also you can't use the standard power bi desktop app for power bi reportserver, you have to use the RS version. and the RS version has no option to add field parameters (because pbirs doesn't support it).

I know that but I am not using standard power bi desktop i am using power bi reportserver.

and is has field Parameter option.

ok then this seems like a bug, pbirs doesn't and (i think) never will support field params.
