Getting an error on a visual saying data cannot be retrieved when published

Hi all,

I just published a Power BI dashboard to a workspace, and I am getting an error on one of the visuals saying that it cannot retrieve the data. The dataset is currently blank (it tracks live data and there is no data for that specific table today). Am I getting an error because the data is blank, or can it actually not communicate with the source? All other visuals from the same database appear fine.

Hi, owenbolick

1. When you are in the report in the Power BI Service, do you have the default filters set or persistent filters? Please consider the possibility that the filtering context returns an empty set after the data is refreshed.

2. What is the data source? Does it show a successful refresh within the refresh summary? Please check if the correct permissions are configured for the user.

I do have default filters set. The data source is an SQL server. Everything works fine except for a view I created that is using a getdate function. The SQL server is set in a different timezone than the workspace that the Power BI report is uploaded to. It looks fine on my PC, but it says it cannot establish a connection for that specific visual when I upload it to the workspace. I am pretty stumped. The refreshes are always successful.
