Can we use RDL migration tool in Pre-migration stage to asses the reports?

I want to use RDL Migration tool prior to actual migration to understand how many report will migrate and how many are not?

Can it is possible using RDL migration tool?

If not any alternate way to do this. I cant do it manually as SSRS reports are in bulk amount. I want some automated way.

Of course. You can use the migration tool to assess which RDL reports for your SSRS support migration to Power BI:

Key Points to Assess:

Ensure that all data sources used in the SSRS reports are compatible with Power BI.

what i understand was RDL migration tool provide a log file after actula migration which give us details which report migrated and which are not.

My quetion is before actual migration can we use this tool to scan all report and gives us summary report?

Also is this tool olny run through powershell commands or this tool having some UI also ?
kindly guide me how can use this tool fro assesment before migration. Your help will be higly appreciable.

The Power BI service does not yet support sharing of data sources and datasets, but most features will continue to be supported. You should check this before you migrate to Power BI. Then follow the migration documentation below to evaluate your SSRS:

Plan to migrate .rdl reports to Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Publish .rdl files to Power BI from Power BI Report Server and Reporting Services - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Since you know how to use PowerShell, you can also write some code through PowerShell to batch obtain the data source type of your SSSRS report:

ReportingServicesTools/Tests/CatalogItems at master · microsoft/ReportingServicesTools · GitHub

In this way, you get the unsupported reports, and you can safely migrate other reports to the Power BI service.
