Power BI Clustered Column Chart Conditional formatting and Analytic line in Power BI Service

In Power BI Desktop, I can add conditional formatting to dynamically color the columns for a Clustered column Chart - depending on the Value of the column. I can also add in an Analytic average line

This works fine in Power BI Desktop. It no longer is allowed on the service....The graphic does not render. I either have to remove conditional formatting or the Analytic Average line. It no longer allows both....

Does anyone know what changed here?

In my testing, you need to add an average before using conditional formatting for your columns:

Then publish it to Power BI Service:

If you're conditionally formatting columns first and then adding averages, you may encounter this error:

Interesting

I was using the gradient using a measure as the formula and then choose the lower color to the higher value color

i ended up using a duplicate measure doing the same calculation for the conditional formatting

that worked and could be published

you used to not have to do that

something changed in the service

but at least I got it to work
