Locking the totals to the bottom of the last page

We are trying to meet a business requirement to display totals and a signature box at the end of the last page of a report.

If we add to the footer, and hide when not the last page, a sizeable section of the page is unavailable.

We have not found satisfactory or consistent method to do this. Please let us know if a method to accomplish this is available or is under development.

As far as I know, there's no better way to do it.
