Modifiable table for contributor to add the data

I have a usecase that user would like to modify the data in a table view then these modification will save to the database.

It would be a table in report and user can choose from a dropdown list to select the correct value if the display info is incorrect. It's kind like an excel table.

I am not a fan of letting users update data using a reporting layer but I also understand that there are business scenarios that need this ability. The following resources should help you get started.
