Can you monitor user behavior in Report Server (on-prem)?

We have been using on-premises PowerBI satisfactorily for several years now. However, we would like to be able to monitor the use of our reports that consist of multiple tabs. And therein lies a challenge: we can see who opens a report and when, but not user behaviour within that report.

Is there anything we can do within Power BI Report Server to properly monitor the usage of our reports, or is that only possible in the Power BI Service with Power BI Activity Logs & Azure Log Analytics?

Hi mmossel ,

The Power BI Reporting Server is located on the SQL instance (same as normal SSRS) and you can start SSMS and access all the functions and information stored in the database.

Report Server ExecutionLog and the ExecutionLog3 View can give you relevant execution information.

Try as below:

Use ReportServer select * from ExecutionLog3 order by TimeStart DESC

Thank you for your reply. There is one activity we would specifically like to log, which is the opening of specific pages within a report. Can we track such user behaviour to understand which pages are used the most?
