Unable to upload .xlsm

After upgrading Power BI Report Server to version 1.12.7936.39665(September 2021) I'm unable to upload .xlsm document to the server.

The error returned is "Uploading or saving files with .xlsm extension is not allowed. Contact your administrator if you have any questions."

I have added the extension to the TrustedFileFormat and AllowedResourceExtensionsForUpload sections of the configuration but still no luck.

AllowedResourceExtensionsForUpload: *,*.xml,*.xsd,*.xsl,*.png,*.gif,*.jpg,*.tif,*.jpeg,*.tiff,*.bmp,*.pdf,*.svg,*.rtf,*.txt,*.doc,*.docx,*.pps,*.ppt,*.pptx,*.xlsm

TrustedFileFormat: jpg, jpeg, jpe, wav, bmp, pdf, img, gif, json, mp4, web, png, xlsm

Uploading the file to a previous version (Version 1.11.7815.26414 (May 2021)) is not an issue.

Has anyone else had this issue or do you have a solution for me?

Restart the server, reinstall report server or repair with the installer. I have no problem with the Sept version.

I tried to run repair on my computer but that did not fix the issue. I have two clients who have upgraded PBISSRS to the Septemer version and they both have this error.

As all the instances have Icelandic collation, which might be causing this (that would not be the first time), I will spin up a all-English instance and do some more tests.

I will post the results when we are done.

This was a regression added in September release of Power BI Report Server. We have a fix and will be releasing a patched version of September Report Server in the coming weeks which fixes this and several other reported issues. Appologies for the inconvience.

I have installed version 15.0.1107.146 ( Version 1.12.7977.29537 in the About window) and the issue is solved.
