Power BI Dashboards Release Management

We are a software provider and we are extending our product to include a new datawarehouse and a Power BI Dashboard.

Our standard software release process can include the ETL process and the new datawarehouse structure for either upgrades or fresh rollout to an environment. However, I am a bit stumped with the Power BI Dashboard files. I can see they have the connection parameters and the data embedded within them. Is there a way release the logic on the pages and to dynamically set the connection string as part of a new release and also is there a way to avoid re-importing the data unless the user chooses to do it (because of new data)?

I think yes, you can manage connections using parameters and using power shell for update.

But if you are building DWH with Power BI front end (onpremise), please consider scaling for enterprise usage, is better (from scaling, performance and manageablity point of view) use dedicated tabular models in MS SSAS, and use Power BI RS only as presentation layer.

We actually use Power BI Desktop to develop the reports and publish to power bi cloud. We don't use the report server so apologies for raising this in the wrong section. Any idea with my setup?
