Power Bi Server October 2020 Update Reports Stays Loading Data

Hi,

We upgrade our Power Bi Report Server and Desktop Clients yesterday. We get an issue about new uploaded reports.

You can design existing or new reports on your power bi desktop without any problem but after upload to server you can not open.

Reports stays loading data with blank page.

I tried clear the cache and access different browsers but nothing change.

maybe it is a bug

is there any idea for solution

I have simular issues. I am also having symptoms described at https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/pbirs-October-2020-site-settings-general-Apply-gives-quot-an/td-p/1479478.

The logs show the AS process failing, but I have yet to find a solution.

I was able to get past this issue by:

Stopping the PowerBI Service
Deleting the contents of the folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\PBIRS\ASEngine\workspaces
Starting the PowerBI Service

We had a problem with the IDE. when you deploy a new report it doesn't save the credentials and connection string. We reverted to the previous IDE and it works fine.

Hi,

Problem is releated with Advanced Metadata Format Feature, If you can disable this feature then create and publish reports eveything is fine.
