How to access the Power BI Report Server reports remotely.

Hi,

I have created a reports using Power BI Report Server and its working fine in locally.But we are unable to access those reports remotely.In locally url is working fine(http://PBIRS:80/Reports) but we cant acces that same url in other system.

Our requirement is we want to access this url from computer placed at the other location.

So please help me out from this issue.

Shivagange when you say remotely are you accessing it from a machine on a different network / domain?

Shivagange i think you have to open port 80 or something, but i could be wrong. I think its a firewall setting

vanessafvgWe have disabled the firewall and url is working fine on local computers (http://<ip address>/Reports) by giving the windows authentication we are able to see report server web page(windows_authentication.png) but its not allowing to access the reports (pbirs_error.png).It's throwing error like could not load folder content(Your not allowed to view this folder.Contact your administrator to obtain the necessary permissions).

Shivagange have you accessed these reports before? Has the person who is adminstering power bi server added you to the server and also the folder? What are you permissions on the server?

vanessafvg After giving permission for each reports its working fine.Finally this issue got resolved thanks vanessafvg.

I have a relevant question. How can I connect remotely to power BI located on my server computer from another computer which is not on the same network as the server?

Hi,

I also met this problem and took many time to resolve it.

Below is my solution.

First of all. you have create user and password.

Then add user with role at site setting and "Manage Folder" also:
