Unable to upload report to report server

report server version is “2.73.5586.1501”.

Desktop version is 2.73.5586.1501 64-bit (September 2019)

I was able to upload reports couple of days ago, however, I'm facing this error now

"There was an error uploading your .pbix file. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file"

Hi,

There is no Power BI Report Version 2.xxx.

Latest Power BI Report Server version is 1.6.7327.3007 (Build 15.0.1102.759), Released: January 23, 2020.

You are using Power BI Desktop RS version 2.73.5586.1501 (september 2019).

So, check the version of Power BI Report Server : Go to PBRS report portail URL, "?", "About".

Power BI Desktop RS 2.73.5586.1501 work with Power BI Report Server Version: 1.6.7236.4246 (Build 15.0.1102.646), Released: October 25, 2019.

I found that my report server version is 1.6.7236.4246 (September 2019).

So, what would be the problem?

please use the appropriate Desktop to the Server - Power BI Desktop (September 2019) / Power BI Report Server (September 2019) :).

please check:

1. Open web portal, check if you are able to publish view Upload button.

2. Please try to create a new report get data from the same database then publish again to see if the issue related to the report itself.

Thanks KBO for your reply.

1- In the web portal I have the upload button and I'm using it to publish the report.

2- I' have different reports that I was trying to upload but with no luck 😞

What would be the problem ?

Hi Haya ,

I remember to had the same issue. The problem there was that I was only permitted on one specific folder - and I only reached the folder with the specific link.

1) Do you have permission in the root level of the report server?

2) Which error Message do you get if you try to upload a report? (Can you make a screenshot?)

3) Is the error message every upload time the same?

Microsoft just released an update that fixed an issue with uploading reports with certain types of data sources
