    <description>&lt;P&gt;No, this is not currently possible. The only way to mashup Excel and SSAS Tabular content is to import the data from SSAS Tabular, but this is not a great solution either as Tabular can sometimes struggle when exporting large volumes of detail level data.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;From a performance perspective a better option might be to give access to the same tables/views that the Tabular model sources data from. But I know that sometimes this is not possible or desireable depending on security, privacy or other issues.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are using Power BI Rpeort Server (May 2019)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have connected it to SSAS using Connect Live Option as a datasource (SSAS Tabular)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Just wanted to know whether below requirement is possible&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can a Power BI user use the SSAS DataModel and also his own excel sheet as a datasource and create a report&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;using columns of both SSAS and excel in one report (Data Mashup)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;eg : Actual Data from SSAS and Budget Data from Excel Sheet&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is it possible in Power BI?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can anyone please suggest?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;HI,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks !!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So now I understand that mashing up Excel Data with SSAS Tabular&amp;nbsp;(Connect Live) option is Not Possible&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;ALso.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;mashing up Excel Data with SSAS (Import) option is Not Possible due to performance implications&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So , if we use data source as SQL Server 2016 and Excel - Can we mashup data for these two.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is it technically possible?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If yes, then cud u pls share any links for the same .&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It's possible. :)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You cain use Import option and import data from SQL Server 2016 then add other source from excel file.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
