topic PowerBI crashes during .pdf export (28tabs) in Report Server

Hi, I find the .pdf exporter to be very temperamental. Sometimes it works and MOST of the time it does not work. I often have to reinstall an older version of PowerBI, which sometimes fixes the problem - however, not this time, thus I am posting on the forum.

Every time I click "export to pdf" the process seems to work until the end (reaches page 28/28), then it force closes the entire PowerBI program. Any solutions?

See diagnostics below.

Best,Dylan

Feedback Type:
Frown (Error)

Timestamp:
2019-05-13T16:12:53.5600834Z

Local Time:
2019-05-13T13:12:53.5600834-03:00

Session ID:
80e917bc-9d10-4a6f-bca8-9f802f0d481d

Release:
April 2019

Product Version:
2.68.5432.841 (19.04) (x86)

OS Version:
Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.17763.0 (x64 en-US)

CLR Version:
4.7 or later [Release Number = 461814]

Peak Virtual Memory:
1.15 GB

Private Memory:
256 MB

Peak Working Set:
372 MB

IE Version:
11.437.17763.0

User ID:
656a034c-979d-44ab-8a2f-d75d5aa0c0d4

Workbook Package Info:
1* - en-CA, Query Groups: 0, fastCombine: Disabled, runBackgroundAnalysis: True.

Telemetry Enabled:
True

Model Default Mode:
Empty

Snapshot Trace Logs:
C:\Users\Dylbert\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\FrownSnapShot1280134531.zip

Performance Trace Logs:
C:\Users\Dylbert\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\PerformanceTraces.zip

Disabled Preview Features:
PBI_shapeMapVisualEnabled
PBI_SpanishLinguisticsEnabled
PBI_NewWebTableInference
PBI_showIncrementalRefreshPolicy
PBI_showManageAggregations
PBI_improvedFilterExperience
PBI_qnaLiveConnect
PBI_keyDrivers

Disabled DirectQuery Options:
TreatHanaAsRelationalSource

Cloud:
GlobalCloud

DPI Scale:
100%

Supported Services:
Power BI

Formulas:

section Section1;

Did you get the crash dialog that asks if you want to send a frown? If so you should definitely submit a frown feedback. You might want to ask this question in the Desktop forum as the crash details you posted are from Power BI Desktop. This forum is for "Power BI Report Server" which is the on-premise report server (which does not currently support the PDF export functionality).

Hi! I am not provided a crash dialogue, the entire program just crashes. Thank you for the recommendation, I will post in the PBI Desktop forum.
