Do i need a separate subscription for power bi service?

Hi,

As i know, Power BI access is tenant based and my organization is having O365 too,

i am able to sign in Power BI.

Right now i am using Free one But, my question is about subscription, i do have Azure subscription will that work for it or i need to have separate subscription for Power BI service.

As far as I know, you don't worry about Azure subscription. I do use Power BI Service but I don't sign up any Azure subscription.

Hi Eric ,

You are right , we don't need any Azure Subscription to access Power BI service( it requires AD Account with Power bi license - may be free or purchased one)

i have Azure subscriton, I can use the Power BI Services using Azure Power BI Embeded feature in the Azure portal which does not required separate power bi licesne as i guess -> this does not support me to design the report/Dashboards online So, I need to use the Power BI Desktop (which is free )version to design my reports and then upload in the Azure Power BI Embeded -> then further embed to my web application.

To work with Power BI Service using web portal (https://app.powerbi.com)i need have actual Power BI Subscription,

now my trial for 60days with power BI Pro is expired.

Can you please answer to my queries.

what is the other way for me to explore on this with out using the Power BI Subscription ?

what is the difference between Power BI Desktop and Power BI web portal (https://app.powerbi.com)?

can i get the same features of Power BI web portal (https://app.powerbi.com) in desktop version?

Does Power BI Desktop support only Report Creation ? what about dashboards and tiles which supports Streaming of data.?

Yes, you'll have to Purchasing Power BI Pro. No workaround, for Power BI Embedded capacity, At least one Power BI Pro account is needed.

As to the difference between Power BI desktop and web portal, desktop is for reports design while the portal is for sharing and coropration, see more in this link Compare Power BI Desktop vs. Power BI Online. Dashboards and tiles are features only for Power BI portal.
