Hi,

Is there is a way to save the original data before applying a filter ?

Evenmore better if there is a way to get back two data setes from the filter, one for the data that passed the filter and one for the data that didn't.

As far as I understand you, you should take a look at Visualization interactions in a Power BI report.

Thank you for your reply.

I think I didn't explain my case very well so I'll explain more.

I'm developing a new visual in PowerBI/D3. In this visual I'm showing all the data on it (No filters). Then when I setup a filter or slicer I want to keep the original data and highlight the filtered data.
But if I applied filters and save the report, the next time I'll open the report it will not get the non-filtered data, it'll show only filtered data but I need to show both of them.
So my question is how to get the original data even if there is a filtered applied? can this achieved by SQL query? or there is other method ?

Thank you for the clarification.

There's no way to get the original data if any filter is applied. Highlighting is only supported for selection.

I appreciate it if you can help with the following questions:

1- Can we detect if there is a filter in the report by code ?

2- Can we clear the report filter by code ?

3- Can we reload the report or triger update by code ?

As far as I know, all of these items are impossible using Power BI Csutom Visuals API.

However, these items might be achieved by using PowerBI-JavaScript (I'm not sure that this library might be integrated into custom visual).
