MCP server how to change remote semantic model and see changes immidiately?

Hello,

I am using TE3 and MCP server agent connected with semantic model.

1. How to see changes done through the MCP server immediately?

Currently, I have changed something in Visual Code via data agent connected to the Power BI server, but I need to reconnect the tabular editor each time to see changes...
2. How are you changing semantic models to compare the baseline state with the changes that data agents made? Can somebody share a checked and tested workflow?

Hi @jaryszek,

Semantic models provide an XMLA endpoint that lets external tools connect to the Analysis Services engine managing the model. Tools like Tabular Editor 3 use this endpoint to function as client tools. As noted in the Tabular Editor documentation, refresh operations are not triggered automatically by design when connected to an Analysis Services instance. This means that if another tool, such as scripts or agents from Visual Studio Code, makes changes to the semantic model, those updates may not show up right away in a current Tabular Editor session. To view the latest changes, you need to reload the metadata or reconnect.
