I am trying to build a Shape Map in Power BI that displays territories based on ZIP codes.
Each ZIP code belongs to a Territory ID, and I want the map to show territories using a color gradient based on a numerical column (for example, sales or revenue).
Territories with higher values should appear in darker colors, and territories with lower values should appear in lighter colors.

However, I am encountering an error saying that there are too many ZIP IDs.
I understand this might be a limitation with the number of shapes that Shape Map can process.
Could you please advise how to best handle this situation?
Also, what would be the best approach to optimize the Shape Map for displaying territories using ZIP codes?

Every Power BI visual has limits on how many data points it will render. If you exceed that you get the blue "i" icon in the top right corner indicating that forced sampling is active.

Solution : Have fewer data points. For a map visual stay below 5000. Use filters.

Good. Make sure your raw data has a mapping key to the state and county or parish, and that you didn't drop these attributes when you simplified the map in Mapshaper.
