Show growth in volumes from previous year - matrix

Hi everyone,

I am currently working on a matrix that would show the evolution of products that we are buying for each of our BUs across time for the same products. I have data baseline set for 2023 - but then I only have 2024 data for 4 out of 6 BUs and won't have every year's data for every BUs everytime. However, I would like my matrix to show on the header column from the right the BU name and the products they bought, then columns on the left would show in the first one next the 2023 volumes data in actual numbers and then I would like the next columns to show the growth in volumes from the baseline year data in 2023. I would like all to be done in Power BI without having to compute it in excel prior, such that everytime I get new data for 2025 etc. I just need to refresh my data and it would add new columns in my matrix automatically. I have been looking for a solution for a while now but the closest one I could find was not working as some of the BUs didn't have data for 2024 and therefore the division formula used as the DAX wouldn't work. I am hoping someone can save me here 😉
looking forward to here your ideas !

Many Thanks
Marion

To report on things that are not there you need to use disconnected tables and/or crossjoins

Prepare dimension tables that have all years/months, and all BUs. Use these in the matrix visual rows and columns. then create a measure for the values.
