I am working on integrating SAP data into Power BI using OData services. I would appreciate guidance on the following:

Access Requirements:
- What roles or authorizations are needed in the SAP system to enable access to OData services for Power BI?
- Are there specific permissions required for reading data from OData endpoints?
OData Connection Setup:
- How do I configure Power BI to connect to these OData services (e.g., authentication, URL format, etc.)?
- What is the recommended approach for configuring Power BI to connect to these OData services (e.g., URL format, authentication, etc.)?
- Are there specific configurations, connections, or middleware tools required to enable seamless cross-server OData communication?

I am relatively new to this integration and would appreciate any detailed steps or resources you can share to get started.

The user needs to be a project member with Basic access, SAP Gateway is responsible for handling the OData service, the user needs roles that allow them to access and use SAP Gateway, you can check below link Assigning Roles to Provide Authorization for ODATA:

How to Connect to Specific SAP Client (e.g., 500) via OData in Power BI

Hi Power BI Community,

We are working with a development SAP system that has multiple clients (client 100 and client 500).

While trying to connect to the OData service for client 500 using the following URL, we notice that it defaults to client 100 instead:

https://<SAPServer>/sap/opu/odata/sap/FCLM_CASH_FLOW_ANALYZER_SRV$format=xml&sap-client=500

We need to ensure the connection specifically targets client 500.

but it always shows invalid credentials error. thogh i have all access.

Could anyone suggest how to set the client number in the OData URL or within Power BI? Is there a way to configure this properly to avoid redirection to the wrong client?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
