2 Questions:
1. In the first table I can go throught the Categorys, but not anymore through the Subgroups with drill drown.
How can this be solved seperately?

2. A more general question. How can I improve my presentation?
The Bar Chart is okay, I am showing Groups by Category.
I can't show the Groups on the Pi Chart only the Categorys.

How can I perhaps add a button to the pie chart so that it filters by category or subcategory?

Can I also add this button to the bar chart?

And do you have any other tips?

https://i.imgur.com/ZEekvBm.png
EDIT: Matrix/Stacked Column/Pie Chart

Looking at the image, I can see the visuals you're referring to: a Matrix visual, a Bar Chart, and a Pie Chart. Here are some suggestions to address your specific questions and improve the visuals.

1. Drilldown through Subgroups in Matrix Visual:

From the Matrix visual in the image:

You have Category and Subcategory but it seems you’re facing difficulty drilling into subgroups.

Solution:

Make sure that you’ve added both Category and Subgroup to the Rows field of the matrix visual.

Ensure Drilldown is Enabled:

Check the drill-down button (downward arrow) at the top of the matrix visual.

You may need to activate drill-down by right-clicking on a Category and selecting Expand to next level or clicking the down arrow to drill into subgroups.

Ensure the hierarchy is properly structured in the Rows section of your visual. If Category and Subgroup are not in the correct order, rearrange them.

2. Improving the Pie Chart by Adding Filter Buttons:

The Pie Chart appears cluttered, with many categories displayed. Here's how you can improve it:

A. Add a Button to Filter by Category or Subcategory:

You can add buttons to filter the Pie Chart dynamically by category or subgroup.

Steps:

Create Bookmarks:

Filter the pie chart by a specific category or subgroup, then create a Bookmark.

Go to View > Bookmarks and create bookmarks for each state (e.g., Category filtered, Subcategory filtered).

Add Buttons:

Insert a Button from the Insert tab.

In the Format section of the button, turn on Action.

Set the Action Type to Bookmark, and link it to the corresponding bookmark.

B. Optimize the Pie Chart:

Since there are many categories, you might consider other visualizations or improvements:

Switch to a Donut Chart: It can help in organizing the categories better, with an outer ring showing subcategories.

Use Slicers: Add a slicer for categories so that users can filter the Pie Chart by category and view specific subcategories.

Limit the Number of Categories: Consider focusing on top N categories, or create an Other category to group smaller segments together.

3. Improving the Bar Chart:

The bar chart appears detailed with a large number of categories and subcategories. To make it more readable:

Use Drillthrough: Allow users to click on a bar to drill through to more detailed pages (subgroups).

Data Labels: Add clear data labels to show specific values if needed.

Hierarchy Slicer: Add a hierarchical slicer that allows users to toggle between category and subgroup for a cleaner, more manageable bar chart view.

4. General Tips for Presentation:

Interactivity: Use interactive elements such as slicers and filters to allow users to drill down or filter categories/subcategories.

Color Usage: Consider simplifying the color palette. Too many colors can make pie charts difficult to interpret. Group subcategories by color within their parent categories.

Hierarchy Organization: Make sure hierarchies in both your matrix and other visuals are well structured so that drilldowns function as expected.

Let me know if you need further assistance with specific steps or additional details on these solutions!
