Power BI Rest API: Datasets - Execute Queries In Group

Hi all,

I am trying to use the Power BI Rest API: Datasets - Execute Queries In Group.

To start with, I am just executing the dax query INFO.MEASURES(), this correctly returns all of the measures in this semantic model.

The problem I have though, is that this model is widely used in live connection by other report creators on the workspace who sometimes create their own report level measures, and because that is not another smeantic model in of itself (I don't believe so at least), I cannot use the API and dax query to get info about those measures.

Is there any way around this or am I doing something wrong? I am fairly inexperienced with APIs/Power BI Rest API and my goal is to be able to monitor all the measures used in the workspace to confirm business logic, dax efficiency and more.

Hi @AC4 ,

The API may not directly provide information about report-level measures created by other report creators.
You may also want to note some of the limitations and caveats of the “Datasets - Execute Queries” API:

The user must have dataset read and build permissions. For more information, see Manage dataset access permissions.

Datasets that are hosted in Azure Analysis Services or that have a live connection to an on-premises Azure Analysis Services model aren't supported.

You may consider other ways to monitor these metrics:
