Gateway Install in Docker Container

Hi everyone, at the company where I work we use the report server to publish all the Power BI reports. I have a report that uses an ArcGIS map visualization with an ArcGIS online account. I would like to know if it is possible to install and configure the Power BI gateway in a Docker container so that the report can be updated automatically

Hi @moralesl1989 ,

Power BI Gateway does not support to be installed in Linux now.

Install an on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Docs

But you can install it on a Windows VM that would be able to access data source

Why this is accepted solution?

Windows apps and daemons can be run on containers
ACI and AKS both support Windows containers

Is there still some other specific reasons why gateway cannot be run on Windows container?

Therefore sadly, Windows containers are not supported.

Did you solve all the issues with automated gateway setup?

Microsoft has a poor track record of making Enterprise ready software.

Or this is business decision to sell Vnet Gateway service.
