I know power bi can't track user activity on embedded reports, regardless whether its app owns data or user owns data.

But is there a way to track users on the external portal while using power bi reports?

If you did implement such a solution was it 3rd party or code within the external portal?

Thank you!

@Anonymous we have not implemented it but there is a way to track user activity in the external portal itself. Below link will give you an idea on how to track the user activity onto a table:
https://github.com/PowerBiDevCamp/App-Owns-Data-Starter-Kit#use-the-activity-log-to-monitor-usage-and-report-performance
