Can apps be used to push data?

Hi,

I am looking to design an app that syncs data to a web api and refreshes this data on a daily cadence. I ONLY want to sync data, I am not looking to create an app that provides a visualization or a report to customers. Is it required for apps to have visualizations?

I am hoping to have this app published in the AppSource for use in Power BI Desktop & Service to bring in data.

I think you are in the wrong forum. This sounds more like a job for Power Automate.
