Hi,

I have a dataset with 2 dataflows as the source in import mode.

Once the pbix file is published to power bi service programatically using service principal - appid, secret, Dataset refresh via rest api's fail. The reason is credentils need to be updated or i'm having to manually take over and sign in.

Is there an alternative to manual steps? can we update/authenticate service principal programatically to then be able to refresh the dataset?

Thanks

Datasets - Refresh Dataset (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Docs

Have you used this Rest API to refresh your dataset?

You can configure scheduled refresh for your dataset so that you don't need to update the credential every time you execute the refresh schedule.

A direct refresh after deploying fails.
