Streaming dataset backed by SQL Server?

Is it possible to having a Streaming dataset backed by SQL Server? If so how would you do it? I'm thinking the Push/API dataset is the most likely canidate, but I'd have to create a program in C# or PowerShell to poll the database for changes. I'm not seeing anything that would do this natively.
