topic Streaming dataset backed by SQL Server? in Developer

Is it possible to having a Streaming dataset backed by SQL Server? If so how would you do it? I'm thinking the Push/API dataset is the most likely canidate, but I'd have to create a program in C# or PowerShell to poll the database for changes. I'm not seeing anything that would do this natively.

Hi @jborn ,

Please refer to the blog.

"In this post, I will show you how to create a streaming dataset inside Power BI in which you can use two different datasets, namely: Streaming or Push (Hybrid)..."
"We will use SQL Server as a data source to push data to either Streaming or the Hybrid dataset using PowerShell as an intermediate layer to perform the operation of pushing the data into Power BI."

Best regards,
Lionel Chen

If this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
