Add existing data role value on bullet chart

While modifying this existing MS Bullet Chart to support addtional bands, etc., I now want to display the value text on the bar/bullet chart, in addition to the bar/bullet that gets displayed representing the location of this value on the scale.

I can easily add another retangle using the "addItemToBarArray" method, but I cannot figure out how to display the text.

Obviously, the data value is there, and should be available for me to append the text, but I'm lost with where/how to implement this.

Any help is appreciated.
