Thanks - if I took this approach I would need to attempt to manually recreate the query used to generate the report in MDX/DAX in order to access the underlying data right?

Hi all,

I am building a customer project with power BI embedded and although I can access underlying report data on the client there does not appear to be any server side REST API access to it - is this correct or is there another way to access underlying report data without trying to replicate the query used to generate the report visual?

Thanks,

John

Assuming your tenant admin has enabled that feature you can use XMLA clients to access the dataset that feeds your reports. That allows you to run MDX and DAX queries etc.

You can copy the query for each visual from the Power BI performance analyzer.
