Hi there 🙂

We are currently working on a relatively large tabular model (the fact table has 90 Million rows). This week we have come across some serious issues with our existing measures and we are pretty much clueless with what's going on.

For example we have a measure to compute our Sales.

If I use this measure in Excel with any value from the customer dimension everything works fine, also adding other measures and using various filters with it.

The issue occurs once I add fields from other dimensions e.g. Product to the rows or columns. Before there was no issue and everything computed quite fast but now it takes ages and no result is returned even after minutes (it should only take seconds).

If I use only fields from the Product dimension, again everything works fine. As soon as I combine fields from different dimensions no result is returned.

Now at this point it gets really weird. When I copy the code of my Sales Measure and paste it into a new measure it works!!

However when I set the formatting of this measure to decimal number with thousands separator it stops working. Before all measures were formatted like this and it didn't cause any issues...

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, we're losing our minds here 🙂

Thanks for reacting so quickly kumar27.

We haven't made any changes to that part of the model recently.

Actually we have now found a way to get our measures running again.

It was simply unticking the Number Format in the Connection Properties in Excel:

Of course we would like to apply number formatting but I am quite relieved now that the issue doesn't seem to be located in our model.

Is anyone aware of this issue?
